Brandon D. Frye, M.D.

Dr. Brandon D. Frye is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in conditions of the hand and upper extremity. As a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel, he has nearly 2 decades of combat medical experience, including combat tours in Iraq (2008-2009) and Afghanistan (2016-2017). Prior to leaving the Army, Dr. Frye was the Orthopedic Clinic Chief, and the sole Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon, at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, in which he provided hand and upper extremity orthopaedic care to more than 82,000 Soldiers, family members, and retirees within the Fort Campbell, KY community, including the prestigious 101st Airborne Division, 5th Special Forces Group, and 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.

Dr. Frye is a 4th generation Brevard County resident. After graduating from Melbourne High School (1998), the University of Florida (B.S. in Zoology & Botany, 2002), and Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O., 2007), he completed a Traditional Rotating Internship at Largo Medical Center in Largo, FL (2008). Following Internship, he entered the U.S. Army, as a Flight Surgeon for the 2nd Assault Helicopter Battalion, 10th Aviation Regiment, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade (Ft. Drum, NY). This included a 12-month deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After his time with the 10th Mountain Division, Dr. Frye transferred to Ft. Bliss, TX and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center/Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (2015). He completed his Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery fellowship at Florida Orthopaedic Institute (2016), which included clinical experiences at Tampa General Hospital (Level 1 trauma center) and Shriners Hospitals for Children of Tampa.

Dr. Frye is Board-Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons in Orthopaedic Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery of the Hand. He is an active Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), and he has been published in several peer-reviewed journal articles. Dr. Frye now practices orthopaedic hand surgery in Melbourne, where he can foster his profession and community, while maintaining his family roots in Brevard County. He resides in Melbourne Beach with his wife and 3 boys. Together, they enjoy traveling, home improvement, fishing, boating and surfing.
